Our purpose!

Hello friends and readers,

I started this blog to track the progress and/or process of working through a problem my daughters and I have decided to overcome. So let me explain the problem. We live in a small community outside of Georgetown, TX in Williamson County. We have lived here for 4 years or so and love it! With the exception of some of our neighbors and their lack of concern for their dogs.

We are not allowed to have fences per the community rules so our options are to have the dogs in a pen, tied up or in the house. Williamson County has a leash law, so dogs are not allowed (even on your own property) to be unrestrained. While I have no issue with dogs being confined to a pen or being tied up for a period of time. They should not be confined constantly or on the other hand, be allowed to run around with no leash or owner present.

These off-leash dogs have caused multiple issues for my family and daughter already (another long story), but it crossed a more serious line this winter when we had several winter storms in a few months and these dogs were left outside constantly. I have called both the animal control and the Sheriff's dept. trying to get someone to help these animals, but there is no one willing.

Basically, they both said "Yes they are supposed to be restrained even in their own yard, but if they aren't, then like a wild animal they will find shelter. Although not being restrained is a violation in itself." They said they would send someone out, but they don't have enough people to patrol the area regularly and would like addresses. Also that I would need to call each time I saw a violation, so every day all day.

So since we cant just run out, gather up all these poor animals and take them to the No Kill Shelter nearby. We are going to research the addresses as told and post the information here so that once we have enough proof we can take it to the appropriate authorities.
